Genesys is proud to count a number of state and local government entities among its client base. Prominent among these is Morris County, New Jersey.
Morris County, among the fastest growing counties in the New Jersey, New York, Connecticut metropolitan region, nestles amid rolling hills, broad valleys and glittering lakes approximately 30 miles northwest of New York City.
Morris County was created by an Act of the State Legislature on March 15, 1738/39 separating it from Hunterdon County, one of the state's largest counties of the period. Named after Colonel Lewis Morris, then Governor of the Province of New Jersey, it originally included what are now the counties of Morris, Sussex and Warren.
Morris County consists of 39 municipalities spread across a 477.8 square mile area. County municipalities range in size from Victory Gardens Borough with 1,314 residents to Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, with almost 48,500 residents. In total, more than 421,000 people make their home in Morris County. The area's workforce exceeds 240,000 with more than 50,000 employed within the county itself.
The county Coat of Arms depicted on this page was adopted in 1956 and possesses elements from the family of Governor Lewis Morris, the first governor of New Jersey and the person for whom the county is named. Across the bottom of the Coat of Arms is the county motto, "Tandem Vincitur", which translated from the Latin means: At last it is conquered.
The county employs approximately 2,000 people. Morris County has been using Genesys systems since 1983 to manage the human resources and payroll needs associated with its diverse staff.
