The award was formally presented at the IHRIM 2007 Conference in Houston.

Lynne Mealy, President and CEO of IHRIM stated, "Genesys has contributed to our Association's professional development efforts for many years. Not only have Genesys executives been presenters at IHRIM's annual HRMStrategies Conference and at local chapter programs, but the company has been a continuous exhibitor at our conferences for over 18 years," she added "Genesys is truly deserving of the 2007 Partners Award and we are pleased to honor them for their long term support of IHRIM and its goals."

Genesys Human Capital Management Trends Survey Reveals What Will Shape Strategies for 2007

Genesys recently released the results of its Human Capital Management (HCM) trends survey.

As in previous years, of the many solutions in the human capital arena, respondents of the Genesys sponsored survey identified outsourcing the following functions as among the most predominant:

  • Payroll processing - 30%
  • Employee assistance programs - 28%
  • Background screening - 27%
  • Payroll tax filing - 21%

In addition, and consistent with the findings of The Outsourcing Institute's Annual Survey of Outsourcing End Users, were the results of the Genesys study which demonstrated the following benefits of outsourcing were most appealing to respondents:

  • Free-up internal staff - 18%
  • Streamline operations - 17%
  • Access to world-class capabilities and industry expertise - 14%
  • Accurate and predictable monthly costs - 14%

These results are similar to the results of EquaTerra's recent HR Outsourcing (HRO) Buyer Pulse Survey which had the following as top-ranking benefits sought by HRO buyers: cost reduction, (ranked highest), followed closely by access to external skills and knowledge, process improvements, and ability to internally focus on more strategic activities.

When asked to describe the reasons for choosing an outsourcing vendor, Genesys 2007 survey respondents once again ranked price highest. As in previous years, other important factors in vendor selection were breadth and depth of product line, financial stability and references/reputation.

When asked about budget expectations over the next 12 months for HR technology and outsourced solutions, 43% of respondents indicated a status quo, while 31% expected an increase in budget. However, in 2005, 50% of respondents expected an increase in budget; and in 2006, 38% indicated that budget expectations for HR technology and outsourced solutions would increase, by as much as 9% in some cases.

With respect to self-service initiatives, when asked about adopting employee/manager self-service, 36% of respondents indicated they have implemented employee/manager self-service, while 39% said it was still not a priority. Respondents saw the greatest benefits of self-service as: employee ownership of general data, online open enrollment, and the reduction of calls placed to HR, respectively. These findings remain consistent with the results of Genesys' 2005 and 2006 surveys.

Coming Soon! Be sure to reserve your copy of the 2007 Trends Survey today! Complete our online Information Request Form today.

  Community Outreach Programs

Genesys strives to give back to the community in a variety of ways. One of those ways was through a corporate sponsorship of several local Londonderry high school students who were selected to participate in the New Hampshire DECA (Delta Epsilon Chi) Career Development Conference. Over four hundred marketing students from across the State of New Hampshire competed in several events. These events included competency measures in which students had to take a 100 question exam and conduct role-play scenarios with area business professionals.

Several Londonderry students took home top honors. Jon Norton placed 1st in the Marketing Math Exam, which 200 other students took. He also came in second for Accounting Applications. This qualified him to represent New Hampshire DECA at the National DECA Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida in April 2007. Ryan Briles came in third in his event and also won medals for taking 1st and 2nd place in roles plays. Kevin Kennedy received medals for 1st place for his written exam and 2nd place for his role play. All three will be attending the National Conference.

Special congratulations to Ryan Briles, the son of Robbie Briles, director of quality assurance at Genesys.

Genesys is pleased to partake in such a wonderful event which will help shape the lives of our future business leaders.

Title:

Workforce Management: Knowing What Talent Resides Within Your Organization
Reduce turnover, increase employee satisfaction and reduce costs associated with filling positions

Who:

Mark Hamdan, HRsmart

When:

June 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., Eastern Time

Details:

How much time does your organization spend on sourcing and hiring outside candidates for open positions? If you are like many organizations, the answer is a pretty high percentage.

Often times, in fact, so much time and effort is spent focusing on bringing new people in the door, the best candidates are overlooked-your internal employees. Sometimes this occurs because recruiting efforts are disjointed from internal organizational development efforts or it could be there is not a process in place to pro-actively seek and solicit internal candidates. The outcome, in some cases, is a missed opportunity to promote an internal candidate who would have made an excellent fit for the position, which then possibly results in compromised morale and dissatisfied employees.

In this 60-minute presentation, Mark Hamdan, president of HRsmart will discuss how to use available technology to:

  • Integrate recruiting efforts with internal organizational development so the two can work in tandem
  • Track employee knowledge, skills and competencies throughout the organization
  • Gather existing job data including skills and competency requirement into a single, easily-accessible location
  • Search, proactively, your employee database to find internal candidates that fit a new position-across all company departments or divisions

The end result is lower recruiting costs and turnover rates, and employees that require less training leading to quicker productivity, with a demonstrated ROI that justifies the entire process.

About our Presenter:

Mark Hamdan is founder and president of HRsmart, Inc., a Richardson, TX-based ASP serving the Talent Management industry. Hamdan founded HRsmart in 1994 with less than $500k and has grown the organization to its current role as a major player in the $35 billion talent management industry, while remaining debt-free. The company has ranked on the Inc 500 list for three consecutive years and was named the 8th fastest growing technology company in Texas in 2005 by Deloitte. Today HRsmart has 10 major technology solutions used by Fortune 500 and 1000 companies and has strategic alliances with other major talent management vendors.
