METHUEN, Mass.
September 20, 1999 Genesys, the
Methuen-based provider of software and outsourcing services for human
resource management and payroll services, announced today the availability
of WEBWorks HealthCare HRMS, an integrated, browser-based system
that handles the complete range of healthcare-related human resources
and payroll functions, including position control and applicant tracking.
"Today many healthcare operations are
banding together under broader managed-care organizations and simultaneously
expanding beyond the hospital setting," said Miles Patten, national
director of healthcare systems for Genesys. "WEBWorks' web-based
design enables these organizations to securely enhance their HR and
self-service communications via the Internet, without worrying about
information systems infrastructure. Providing access to HR and payroll
functions via WEBWorks enables healthcare organizations to empower
their workforces all employees and managers, not just their HR
personnel."
WEBWorks HealthCare HRMS was designed
specifically to accommodate the healthcare industry's requirements for
integrated human resources, position control, and payroll. For example,
the system automatically compares budget and actual hours and dollars;
allows changes in employment criteria without reprogramming; seamlessly
handles changes in business rules and government requirements; and facilitates
reengineering efforts with technology all necessary capabilities
for healthcare organizations.
WEBWorks HealthCare HRMS features
include position and staffing control, budget management, requisition
control (with automatic checking of budget hours and dollar authorization),
payroll calculations for employees working in multiple positions at
multiple pay rates, complex overtime calculations according to healthcare-industry
standards, tracking of salaries funded by multiple sources, recording
of productive versus nonproductive time, applicant tracking, exposure
tracking, information modeling and analysis, in-service training, automatic
check reconciliation, career planning, benefits administration, performance
tracking, and browser-based user interface. WEBWorks HealthCare
HRMS works with the Genesys WEBServe product, so organizations
can offer managers and employees web-based self-service. WEBWorks
HealthCare HRMS relies on standard Web-server and client technology,
so healthcare organizations don't need to install any software other
than a standard web browser on their computers. Since an ever-increasing
number of users are familiar with browsers, and because WEBWorks
includes on-line help, very little training or ancillary documentation
is required. Style sheets control the appearance of the user interface,
so organizations can easily customize their integrated Genesys applications
to match companywide standards. In addition, WEBWorks HealthCare
HRMS pages, or screens, can be easily customized to harmonize with organizations'
specific procedures, policies, and other standards, and organizations
may incorporate into the system hotlinks to their own web sites, such
as hospital HR policy manuals.
Genesys has enjoyed a long-standing relationship
with the healthcare industry and has provided healthcare-specific HR,
payroll, and position-control software for more than five years. The
Genesys customer base includes some 400 hospitals, among them many of
the major U.S. healthcare institutions. Any organization with the infrastructure
to support the internal use of Microsoft Internet Explorer (4.0 or greater)
browser-based applications can run WEBWorks HealthCare HRMS.
It is available as either a Windows NT- or MVS-based application, and
it supports both Microsoft Internet Information Server and Netscape
Enterprise Server. The license fee for the WEBWorks HealthCare
HRMS depends upon number of employees supported and begins at $165,000.
