Genesys Appoints Veteran Executive Ladner As New Chief Operating Officer

Ladner Brings to Position 14 Years of Experience In All Facets of Company

METHUEN, Mass. — May 7, 2002 — Genesys, a provider of software and outsourcing services for learning management, human resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, announced today the appointment of Ruth Ladner as chief operations officer. In this newly created position, Ladner will have operational responsibility for all aspects of the company and will report directly to Larry Munini, CEO, president, and founder of Genesys.

During her career with Genesys, Ladner has managed the company's application development, customer service, professional services, and sales and marketing. In the mid-90s, she was instrumental in the company's decision to complement its software business with hosting and full-service payroll processing services, provided by a company-owned data center facility and staff.

"Ruth has been an integral member of the Genesys executive team for many years. Her wide range of experience, her credibility as an industry authority, and her knowledge of customers makes her a perfect choice for the position," said Munini. "Genesys has grown to a level that requires us to expand our C-team. We have major plans for the next few years, the beginning of which the market has seen with PeopleComeFirst, our new learning and competency management system. Ruth will be one of the leaders who can take Genesys into the next era of people-based technology."

"I am pleased to be named to this position," said Ladner. "I look forward to assuming more responsibility and to working with other Genesys executives as we move into new markets and continue to raise the bar in all facets of human resource management."

In past years, Ladner has been a frequent speaker at meetings and conferences including the International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM) and various state chapters, as well as the Colleges and Universities Personnel Association (CUPA). She also is highly involved with the annual customer events. She was a contributing author to "21 Tomorrows: HR Systems In the Emerging Workplace of the 21st Century", a book published by IHRIM in 2000.
