METHUEN,
Mass. September 25, 2001 Genesys, the Methuen, Mass.-based provider of software and outsourcing
services for human-resource (HR) management, payroll, e-learning, and
benefits, today announced PeopleComeFirst, a Web-based e-learning solution
that enables organizations to manage the learning process for employees,
partners, and customers and to design and track individualized training
programs based on competencies. It will be showcased in booth 951 at
the Online Learning 2001 Expo, October 1-3, in Los Angeles.
"Internet technology has changed all aspects of business, and training is no exception," said Larry Munini, president of Genesys. "E-learning promises to reduce organizations' cost of training and to increase the retention of information by employees. PeopleComeFirst provides a world-class platform for e-learning now and into the future."
PeopleComeFirst functions as the nerve center of an organization's overall e-learning environment. It provides the infrastructure instructors and program directors need to manage and track employee participation in online and offline training classes and for organizations to create, store, assemble, and deliver personalized e-learning content in the form of learning objects. PeopleComeFirst enables organizations to develop their workforce, while freeing them from managing multiple nonintegrated learning initiatives.
PeopleComeFirst performs the full range of learning management functions (course scheduling; online enrollment and administration; competency management; online course delivery; integration of third-party content; tracking and reporting of learning activities; testing, certification and results measurement; student records management; evaluation of performance improvement; skill gap analysis; and integration with enterprise software) and also includes learning content management functions such as a learning object repository, dynamic delivery, and administrative capabilities. All of these features are provided in a brand-new application that has been designed and built from the ground up.
PeopleComeFirst Leverages Advanced Technology to
Ease Administration, Enrollment, Learning Management
Some of the key aspects of PeopleComeFirst are:
- Competency ManagementUnlike many older learning management systems, PeopleComeFirst includes a complete competency-management system for tracking and analyzing employees' skills, abilities, knowledge and behaviors.
- Integration with e-learning training content PeopleComeFirst allows the delivery of Web-based e-learning content, providing a simple and affordable way to train the workforce.
- Ease of Administration and Enrollment PeopleComeFirst greatly simplifies activities such as creating a training event; scheduling employees, trainers, and facilities; and advertising events to employees. With PeopleComeFirst, enrolling in training can be done with the click of the mouse, and approval processes can be automated.
- ReportingPeopleComeFirst customers can report on activity such as training by department, training by cost center, and no-shows. Since PeopleComeFirst is based on object-oriented and relational technology, industry-standard report generators such as Crystal Reports may be used to generate professional-quality printed and Web-based reports.
- Workflow Integration Email has emerged as a standard communication mechanism in organizations of all sizes. PeopleComeFirst allows students, instructors, and learning administrators to be notified when classes are created, cancelled, or otherwise changed.
Genesys is an established HRMS vendor with a track record of success in supporting critical corporate functions and a commitment to providing customers with the best technology at the lowest cost.
"We've mastered traditional HRMS and payroll functions, but new tools are required to extend the value of HR throughout the enterprise," said Larry Munini. "We believe that learning management is a critical element of a successful HR program, so we've concentrated our development resources on building a system that takes advantage of advanced technology such as object orientation and components, and melds learning management and learning content management into a single, integrated system."
