METHUEN,
Mass. April 2, 2002 Genesys, a provider of software and outsourcing services for learning management, human resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, announced today an integration partnership with Knowledgelinx, a provider of browser-based knowledge transfer products. Under the agreement, Knowledgelinx's robust authoring and content management system will be integrated with PeopleComeFirst, the new learning and competency management system from Genesys.
The integrated offering creates a complete enterprise knowledge and learning platform, enabling companies to efficiently manage and maintain a wide range of learning and other knowledge resources, create new content, and manage learning activities and competencies from one single system.
Knowledgelinx's Rocket KM gives companies the ability to consolidate knowledge assets throughout the enterprise, perform and manage dynamic updates, and allow subject matter experts to create new interactive learning content without programming expertise. Materials in Word, PowerPoint, or virtually any other electronic format can be included in the Knowledgelinx content database.
PeopleComeFirst, recently adopted by Lands' End and Hillsborough County, incorporates rich functionality and flexibility for competency management, as well as tracking and managing all types of training, including e-learning courseware, corporate libraries, leader-led training, seminars and conferences, and virtual classrooms. Training resources can be directly related to the competency requirements identified for specific jobs or classifications of employees. PeopleComeFirst can also perform detailed cost tracking and cost allocations, as well as highly flexible scheduling and registration procedures.
"One of the great
advantages offered through Knowledgelinx is the ability for companies
to dynamically update learning content," said Steve Munini, director
of advanced technology for Genesys and chief developer for
PeopleComeFirst. "For instance, when a company makes a product change,
all e-learning courseware and related training materials referencing
the impacted product can be revised throughout the enterprise - from
a single update. This solves a huge headache for training departments,
since most typically have to update each course or document and then
republish the updated materials to multiple locations."
"We are excited by the opportunity to deliver an end-to-end, truly integrated learning and content management solution that can improve knowledge transfer across the organization," said John Hudson, president and CEO of Knowledgelinx. "We believe PeopleComeFirst has a vision for learning management that goes beyond what's in practice today. By integrating with PeopleComeFirst, we can help companies realize better value from their knowledge assets and directly impact employee productivity and performance."
